Modernising the telecommunications of one of the UK’s biggest stations

As one of the UK’s busiest railway stations, King’s Cross needed a modern, reliable and flexible telecoms system to keep the station and its visitors moving safely and efficiently. We were on hand to make that happen.

Key activities

  1. Upgrade of PA system to ASL distributed system
  2. Installation of IP CCTV cameras
  3. PHP cabling and internals
  4. Replacement of existing HCI/CROMOS system with a MICA-3 SMS system

Out with the old

When it became clear the previous system in place at King’s Cross was no longer fit for purpose, we provided everything that was needed to bring it right up to date, including the installation of improved PA systems and more cost-effective IP CCTV cameras.

New and improved

The new, easier to maintain system now means the station experiences less downtime for lengthy and complicated repairs, and customers get a better experience throughout the station too, thanks to upgraded announcements and improved passenger help points.
